Watch: Belle & Sebastian Reveal "A Bit of Previous" Music Video

Glasgow indie pop band Belle & Sebastian have revealed the video for their latest single "A Bit of Previous".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from the album of the same name, released last month (May 6) via Matador Records. Buy it here.

According to frontman Stuart Murdoch “The song touched on the themes of karma and reincarnation. In the clip a woman journeys through her life ‘seeing’ people’s karma. She sees what they are and what they will become. She sees people who are doing well, who are gods in this life. ‘Just because you’ve got the high ground/Doesn’t mean you have the most fun.’ She imagines them transform into different life forms, even into walking ghosts. Conversely, she sees some who are destitute and alone. She sees them transforming into enlightened people. Finally, she imagines her own future, shrouded in cloud and mystery.”

Belle and Sebastian Announce Soundtrack Album, Air "Sister Buddha"'

Glasgow indie pop band Belle & Sebastian have announced the release of their soundtrack album 'Days of the Bagnold Summer'.

The 13-track record will be out on September 13 via Matador Records. Pre-order your copy here.

 Days of the Bagnold Summer is an adaptation of Joff Winterhart’s coming-of-age graphic novel. Set for release in 2020, it stars Earl Cave (“The End of the F***ing World”), Monical Dolan, Rob Brydon, Alice Lowe, Tamsin Greig, and Elliot Speller-Gillot.

In a press release, Stuart Murdoch said that Days of the Bagnold Summer director Simon Bird “was adamant” that the band used “Get Me Away From Here I’m Dying,” which originally appeared on 1996’s If You’re Feeling Sinister. “He’s a proper fan of the group,” said Murdoch.

Watch: Belle & Sebastian Air Music Video For "Paper Boat"

Glasgow indie pop band Belle & Sebastian have aired the video for "Paper Boat".

It is an unreleased Belle & Sebastian track written by Stuart David (co-founder of Belle & Sebastian), around the time as the band’s third LP 'The Boy With The Arab Strap', before David left B&S to front his electronic group, Looper.

David will release his latest book, In The All-Night Cafe, A Memoir of Belle and Sebastian, on 16 April (via Little Brown in the UK) / 1 May (Chicago Free Press in the US), and Looper will release 'These Things', a 5 CD box set featuring the brand new album Offgrid:Offline on 13 April (14 April in the US) on Mute.

The video was made by Looper's Karn David and assembled from filmed footage of B&S on a trip to Banchory, Aberdeenshire, in the summer of 1998.
