New Entry: Squid Premiere New Single "Paddling"

Brighton/London art-rock/psych band Squid have premiered their new single "Paddling".

The song is taken from their highly-anticipated debut studio album ‘Bright Green Field’, set to be released on May 7th via Warp Records. Pre-order your copy here.

From the band: "Sharing ‘Paddling’ with you all. We started writing it when we were but kids still living in Brighton. Last summer we really got into playing this together again. Straight away we started to work the tune into new places whilst we were writing at the Old Road in Chippenham, the track became an important part of Bright Green Field for us."

"Recording Paddling was great, it was quite hot so naturally the tempo was upped a fair bit too.  Dan Carey’s modular synthesizer is definitely the 6th band member in this one, turning Louis & Anton’s guitars into racecars from about the 5 minute mark."

New Entry: Squid Unveil New Single "The Cleaner"

Brighton/London art-rock/psych band Squid have unveiled their new single "The Cleaner".

The song, produced by Dan Carey, is taken from the forthcoming ‘Town Centre’ EP, set to arrive digitally on 6th September via Speedy Wunderground , and on 12” on 15th November, Pre-order it here.

On ‘The Cleaner,’ Squid are at their angular best, the lyrics are inspired by moving to London and trying to adjust to the pace and lifestyle of the city. The track is bursting with ideas, and there’s a clear energy and determination within the band to embrace different musical styles, deftly.

Brighton/London art-rock/psych band Squid have shared their punchy new single "Houseplants".

The song was produced by Speedy Wunderground label head Dan Carey and is out now via Pratise Music, Grab it here.

The band's Ollie Judge expalins: "Houseplants is about being able to afford a house and not having to have beans on toast for the week leading up to payday. Pessimistically, I don’t see that future happening, but I still catch myself every now and again thinking it could.”
