Watch: Rowan Unleash New Single/Video "Honesty"
Cork indie rock band Rowan have unleashed the video for their new single "Honesty".
The song is taken from their forthcoming debut album 'Everybody Talks', set to be released on May 6th through Los Angeles based label, Beverly Martel. Pre-order your copy here.
“It’s hard to be 100% honest with ourselves and each other” explain the band, who sing of the tribulations of keeping one’s integrity intact, over a bed of mesmerizing garage-rock grooves and blustery guitar lines. The track is accompanied by the following video, compiled of raw footage from the band’s archive; a montage of their favorite moments from the past year.

Watch: Rowan Share New Single/Video "One Of These Days"
The song is taken from their new EP 'Everybody Talks', out this Friday, July 23 through Los Angeles based label, Beverly Martel. Get it here.
On the track, frontman Dylan Howe says: "One Of These Days is a song about the desire for vengeance after a relationship breaks down. 'One of these days I'll get her back' is sung from the perspective of revenge rather than longing. It's ambiguity is tied in with the contrast of 'Smile' and 'Cry' in the chorus. The bittersweet emotions of anger and love are contrasted with imagery such as death and infancy and Robert Emmet's love for Ireland, in which he faced the gallows for."
On the video, he adds: "The video for "One Of These Days" is a snapshot of a grittier Ireland. Touching on addiction, substance abuse and dealing with one's inner turmoil. One person's normality is another person's insanity. The video is a comment on how we perceive the outsiders of society, and how isolated they can be because of the collective view on them."

Watch: Rowan Unveil New Single/Video "Nothings Gonna Change"

Nothing’s Gonna Change talks about “coming out of your shell, gaining your self-confidence and growing into yourself” explains frontman Dylan Howe. It mirrors the same growth the band went through after the success of that debut EP. “I've always been really quiet and shy,” admits Dylan. “but I’ve learned to speak up a little more now and that song definitely came from a place of quiet confidence.”

Watch: Rowan Premiere New Single/Video "Everybody Talks"

Everybody Talks sees the band laying their emotions on the line. it looks to create a sense of paranoia and anxiety, through repetition and was written about what Dylan Howe (vocals) calls “the feeling you get when you’re having a bad day and it seems like everybody’s out to get you.”That rollercoaster of emotions is echoed by dips and swirls between storming guitars and ever-changing rhythms.
Coming in X, ‘Everybody Talks’ sees Rowan establish themselves as an emotional force to be reckoned with. It is, according to Dylan, “a more coherent collection of work” and sees the band taking influence from the post-punk energy of Fontaines D.C. and Idles as well as their long-standing love of Kings of Leon, The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys (whose headline performance at Glastonbury 2007 inspired Fionn to start making music).
The video is based on a ‘groggy morning after aesthetic’ and shot at an old Georgian mansion just outside of Dublin. Watch/listen below.
