High Vis Unleash New Single "0151"

London post punk band High Vis have unleashed their new single "0151".

The song is taken from their forthcoming sophomore album 'Blending', set to be released on September 30th via DAIS Records. Pre-order your copy here.

Titled after the landline dialling code for Liverpool / Merseyside, frontman Graham Sayle explains – “With the backdrop of a decade of austerity and neglect, ‘0151’ is a song about the power of collective identity. Written after my uncle passed away during the pandemic, the song was inspired by tales of life as a ship builder and the subsequent decline of the industry in the North of England; a song about the landscape and communities from my formative years and our current socio-economic situation.”

Bassist Rob Moss adds, “Liverpool is a city familiar with the receipt of bad news. Old grief within the North West breeds in its most mild form an inherited skepticism of authority. A scalable requirement to be outwardly disruptive and inwardly sensitive. A low key connectivity built through regional endurance. For me the song is about struggle and resilience against policies of social and economic abandonment.”

High Vis Unveil New Single "Trauma Bonds"

London post punk band High Vis have unveiled their new single "Trauma Bonds".

The song is taken from their forthcoming sophomore album 'Blending', set to be released on September 9h via DAIS Records. Pre-order your copy here.

High Vis have exploded onto the DIY scene, earning a devoted following for their intense live shows and immediate lyrics that tackle themes from class politics to the challenges of everyday life. While their passion of hardcore stokes their fire, its post-punk’s textures and moods that line their sonic adventurousness, which suggests the members of High Vis are never going to be confined by any notion of what they should or shouldn’t be playing.

Quite possibly Blending's emotional centrepiece, the melodic jangle and impassioned vocals of 'Trauma Bonds' offer up an ultimately hopeful search for empathy and communication in the face of ongoing personal tragedy.

As front person Graham Sayle puts it, "‘Trauma Bonds' was written after the news of another tragic suicide of one of our friends during lockdown. It forced us to reflect on how the death of young people had become so normalised within our group of friends that we had become numb to it. Friendships became Trauma Bonds and the gravity of these situations suppressed through toxic coping mechanisms. The song is a hopeful exploration into these feelings in an attempt to support each other through better communication and collective empathy."

High Vis Premiere New Single "Blending"

London post punk band High Vis have premiere their new single "Blending".

The song serves as the title track of their their forthcoming sophomore album 'Blending', set to be released on September 9h via DAIS Records.

They’ve created their own signature sound of aggressive, gripping, artful punk that’s as tough as any hardcore record yet sonically opens beyond the parameters of any genre or scene. And as the title of their highly anticipated new album suggests, Blending is about bringing all these new strands and elements into what the band are about at their core to forge something entirely new. Alongside longstanding favourites such as Fugazi and Echo and The Bunnymen; Ride and even Flock Of Seagulls were shared reference points as the band worked on the album together.

Blending has a more specific meaning that links to front person Graham Sayle’s lyrics too, he explains, “The message of the album is you’re not who you’re told you are,” Sayle summarises. “You’re not your class background. Whatever it is, you’re not that. Don’t resign yourself to thinking you can’t be this and you can’t be that.”

High Vis Announce New LP 'Blending', Stream "Fever Dream"

London post punk band High Vis have announced the release of their sophomore album 'Blending'.

The follow-up to 2019 debut album No Sense No Feeling, will be out on September 9h via DAIS Records. Pre-order your copy here.

Formed in 2016 from the ashes of some of the UK’s best hardcore bands (Dirty Money, Tremors, DiE, The Smear), High Vis maintain a hardcore energy in their live shows – it’s not uncommon for cheerfully miserable, gold toothed vocalist/front person Graham Sayle to come away from a show with a bleeding forehead – but they’ve taken their aural cues from older UK bands like Gang Of Four, Crisis, Joy Division and Stone Roses. The intensity and passion of hardcore still stokes their fire, but in its post-punk inspired textures and moods lay a sonic adventurousness which suggests the members of High Vis are never going to be confined by any notion of what they should or shouldn’t be playing.

Blending sees them open their viewfinder wider than ever before. Alongside longstanding favourites such as Fugazi and Echo and The Bunnymen; Ride and even Flock Of Seagulls were shared reference points as the band worked on the album together.
