Flyying Colours Confirm Details of New Album 'Fantasy Country'
The follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2016's debut album Mindfullness, will be out on February 26th via London-based independent label, Club AC30. Taking inspiration from the early 90s UK psych/shoegaze scene, ‘Fantasy Country’ is rich in sonic texture and shimmering atmospherics with a heavy dose of melody. Pre-order your copy here.
“While it’s been a long time seemingly between records it doesn’t feel like that so much for us. We have previously been able to throw ourselves into recording over a period of time, however with this record was about creating that time in between touring and life. We are real people who work to pay our rent and to be able to go on tour,” says band member Brodie J Brümmer.
“This album was supposed to now be 6-12 months old. We take touring and supporting our music live pretty seriously so it would have been very difficult for us to put out this album during the early stages of the pandemic. We are very lucky to be in Australia right now where shows are starting up again, and we of course hope to be touring internationally again soon,” he adds.

New Entry: Flyying Colours Return With New Single "Big Mess"
The song will feature on the band's long-awaited sophomore album 'Fantasy Country,' which will be out this year through Poison City Records.
“Big Mess was one of the first tracks written for this record after finishing our last set of major touring. It became somewhat of a representation of what it was like at the time for us being away and coming home. Everything was a bit crazy and a bit messy in our lives…relationships change (all different kinds) as life changes and that is kind of what the song is about,” the band say on the track.
“I like it as it feels very much like the songs I used to write in high school, which is funny. It was the first song we started working on and one of the most difficult to really get it to sound the way it did in my head. After playing Big Mess live as a band for a while before recording I think we are all very excited to release it to the world.”.

Watch: Flyying Colours Unleash Music Video For New Single "Like You Said"
Melbourne psych/shoegaze band, Flyying Colours have unleashed the video for their excellent new single "Like You Said", taken from their upcoming self tilted debut EP, due for release 1st November through UMA distribution.
In a recent interview, talking about their music, lead guitarist/vocalist Brodie J Brümmer commented: "I can see why people would make that specific link to our music [My Bloody Valentine], particularly 'Wavygravy' [their debut single] does lend itself to that kind of guitar sound. But, like, there's a shoegaze element – and a Britpop '90s element is very strong within our music... We’re kinda like an instrumental pop group, which is a fundamental thing about shoegaze. But we all listen to everything from the '90s, like, we are all massive Nirvana fans and grunge fans and Sonic Youth fans."
About the upcoming EP Brümmer says: "It’s like building a house for the songs to live in forever".
