Watch: Crack Cloud Release Music Video For "Uncanny Valley!"

Canadian post punk band Crack Cloud have released the video for "Uncanny Valley!"

About the track, the band posted:

"The Uncanny Valley illustrates the dichotomy between dogmatism and identity. The song is split between two movements representing growth. The first movement is about dealing with and confronting idealistic worldview. It was important to represent time by editing visuals in a non-linear fashion. We wanted to express imagery relating to religion, masculinity, violence and addiction in a cyclical nightmarish way. It’s about waking up and confronting your demons."

"The second movement deals with forging an identity in a homogenized world. It’s about everybody telling you who you are before you even know who you are. This movement evolves from the more muted colour pallete of the first half into a more vibrant highly saturated look that evokes blooming growth. We wanted to break stigmas towards addiction and rehabilitation. The hope is to create conversation towards restorative justice and to carve a path or find and foster communities that contextualizes people’s lives so we can have a better understanding of each other. It’s about taking accountability of who you are and who you plan to be. It’s about confronting pragmatism in communities and identifying that disposability is rooted in criminal justice and that the people who hurt the most from it can also be the most vulnerable. Class, race, generational violence and trauma all playing a heavy hand."

The video was directed, produced and edited by Crack Cloud.  Uncanny Valley!! Marks the end of a visual trilogy that began with IMAGE CRAFT and SWISH SWASH.
