Belgium shoegaze dream-pop band The Spectors have announced they will release their debut full-length album 'Light Stays Close', which will be out on March 6th via [PIAS] Recordings.
The album was recorded during ten days in November at the La Chapelle Studios in the Ardennes, and alternates between poppy earworms with singalong choruses and relentlessly dark, derailing dirges. According to the press release, the album is "a melancholy and moody, yet strangely uplifting collection of songs about loves gone wrong, alienation, jealousy, heartbreak and yearning for better times, with a ray of light just piercing through the darkness at the very end."
The band have also aired the video for their newest single and the album's first track "Like Sand", which was written by Marieke Hutsebaut and produced by former Editors guitarist Chris Urbanowicz. It will remind you of House Of Love. The clip features footage from "Sandcastles 1972, Ridgemont High".
