Kitchens of Distinction Reveal New Album Title, Artwork,Tracklist, Pre-Orders Now Available

Kitchens of Distinction have revealed full details for their long-awaited new album titled "Folly", which will be out on September 30th via 3 Loop Music. The 10-track album is the band’s first in 19 years following the release of Cowboys And Aliens in 1994.

Patrick Fitzgerald explains the gestation of the album:

“These songs came together over a two-year period which began in June 2011 and finished during April 2013. As with all songs by Kitchens of Distinction, new and old, they began with the musical structure first, the tune and lyrics coming later. With these songs I wrote the initial music, with KOD guitarist Julian Swales shaping them, suggesting tempo changes, structure changes, and providing the trademark sonic embellishments of his galactic guitar cascades. Dan Goodwin, original KOD drummer, added percussion and rhythm programming support. They were recorded in my studio in Derbyshire and at Julian’s studio in Brighton. The songs were mixed with Pascal Gabriel in April 2013 when I was recovering from a nephrectomy and winter would not leave us.”

Folly will be available in vinyl, CD, digital formats and in a very special bundle, so be sure to pre-order your copy today from 3 loop music

The tracklisting of the album is as follows:

01. Oak Tree
02. Extravagance
03. Disappeared
04. Photographing Rain
05. Japan To Jupiter
06. Wolves / Crows

Watch: Real Lies Release Music Video For "Deeper"

London brand new bedroom pop trio Real Lies have revealed the video for "Deeper", the first of three double A-side singles they will release on the also new London label Sweet Exile.

About the (long) vocal, Real Lies say:  "it's a confessional monologue about trying to recreate going on holiday in London… Have we tried it? Yeah, we've been doing it for the last three years! When the sun comes out in London there’s no better place."

The video was directed by Rollo Jackson, who explains: "I was trying to capture that feeling of drunken dreamy memories, feelings of total elation and then despair which at times are very close. It’s saying how important those memories and moments can be – things shouldn't be devalued just because they're hazy or distant."

Watch Real Lies going "deeper" below.

Watch: Big Deal Share New Video For "Dream Machines"

London-based duo Big Deal have shared the video "Dream Machines", the third single taken from their recently released sophomore album 'June Gloom', out via Mute Records.

The song is part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com.

About the song, member Kacey Underwood says: "It's either a sad song about dropping out in the ultimate sense, or it's a very optimistic song about forgetting the world and having a good time. Depends on what kind of day it is, I guess."

The video was directed by Errol Rainey and features the band on tour, playing in different locations and also showing their basketball skills. Watch it below.
