Emerging from the UK’s lockdown having formed from the ashes of two previous Manchester indie bands, the intention of Peacock Method’s debut single "I Don’t Mind" was to inject much needed colour into the city’s post-pandemic nightlife. They succeeded. Establishing not only themselves as one of the city’s brightest prospects, but also in doing their own small part to help get the Northern Quarter back to its pre-pandemic prime.
Now the band are back with their second single ‘Slowly’. Taking a different narrative approach to their debut, it was described by the band as illustrating “an indifferent approach to casual sex and a tongue in cheek comment on the sensations of a one night stand. Its about living life too quickly and switching up presumptive roles of genders in the bedroom.”
A fitting subject matter for a band to whom gendered aesthetics mean very little, yet it’s also a frenetic and funk-driven track that proves exactly as to why the band are such an exciting prospect amidst a sea of parker-sporting mediocrity.
Peacock Method are: Adam - lead vocals/guitar/keys/production, Lucas - bass/backing vocals and Rich - lead guitar/backing vocals
