Legendary singer, superstar, creative artist and seven-time Grammy winner Prince has died at home at his estate, his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, has confirmed.
The star was admitted to hospital at the tail end of last week, following a battle with flu. He was aged 57.
“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57." Ivette said.
In 1984, he won an Oscar for the score to Purple Rain, a film he also starred in.
Prince’s 39th studio album, ‘HITnRUN Phase Two’ was released last year, he became a global superstar in the 1980s, with albums such as 1999, Purple Rain and Sign O' the Times.
