Watch: Swine Tax Unleash Visuals For New Single "Relax"

Newcastle indie rock/alt band Swine Tax have unleashed visuals for their new single "Relax".

After witnessing the band perform an intense live set in Sunderland last year, Barry Hyde (The Futureheads) approached Swine Tax to produce their music in the studio. ‘Relax’ is the first track to emerge from these fruitful recording sessions - one that sees the band further sharpen their agitated, hook-driven sound. Propelled by a throbbing bass groove and a heavy punk beat, ‘Relax’ details the heady excitement of a night on the town.

Speaking on the single, the band said: “Relax is an ode to Newcastle’s primal club scene. It’s like a warped dance track, combining a speaker-shaking beat with a bittersweet pop chorus. It’s the intoxicated internal monologue of a big night out - the dancing, flirting, chest-crushing bass, rushes of blood, heightened senses, cutting loose and coming undone.”

New Entry: Stay Lunar Premiere New Single "Not Your Fight"

Swindon/Bristol indie pop band Stay Lunar have premiered their new single "Not Your Fight".

Speaking about it, the band told Clout: “Not Your Fight’ is actually quite a dark song about trying to help someone with an addiction – but luckily, in typical Stay Lunar fashion, we’ve turned a difficult topic into something that we feel is a really up-beat and fun to listen to. We really love the idea of people both being able to dance to our songs and listen with headphones on their beds at night while they’re feeling all reflective about life.

UPDATE 02/11/2020: "Not Your Fight" is our new Single of the Week!

I guess that sums up the contrast between writing and performing for us, the writing is very personal and emotional, whilst the performing is a real release and a huge amount of fun, so we hope that comes across in our music.”

The song is out tomorrow (Oct 30). Grab it here and take a listen below.

The song is out today (September 18) via Someone Great/PIAS.

UPDATE 18/09/2020: "Sleepless" is our new Single of the Week!

"Sleepless is a no strings attached indie anthem, exploring ideas of communication and loss of friendships and relationships. A driven, upbeat, indie track, with big choruses and is an earworm that will get stuck in your head all day; touching on the understanding and empathy of relationship struggles and communicating with others about feelings. It’s about knowing when to take a step back, where you stand, and the struggles of mixed messages and self-doubt."

Watch: Children Collide Air New Single/Video "Funeral for a Ghost"

Melbourne post punk/krautrock/indie rock band Children Collide have aired the video for their new single "Funeral for a Ghost".

The song is taken band's upcoming fourth studio album, out soon, get it here. Frontman Johnny Mackay explains: "I wrote it on an old Roland loop pedal when I was living in a dungeon in North Melbourne an eon ago. I had to open a trap door to get down to my room and you could see where a tunnel had been bricked up on my bedroom wall. I was listening to a lot of Sonic Youth at the time, constantly rotating between Murray St and Confusion is Sex. Listening to it now, the lyrics sound like I wrote them last week about COVID conspiracy nuts. Time is a flat circle."

The video was directed by Lord Fascinator. Check out below.

Cologne based electro-pop singer, songwriter and producer Marius Lauber aka Roosevelt, has premiered his new single "Echoes".

The song is out today (August 19) via Greco-Roman / City Slang. Get it here.

Roosevelt caused a stir in June with ‘Sign’, his first new studio recording since 2018, a deep dive into ice cold drum machine emotion which is already streaming in the millions. Follow-up ‘Echoes’ shows a totally different side to the acclaimed artist and producer - a space disco opus with layers of vocals revealing a wide narrative arc. New Entry: Gallus Release New Single "Eye to Eye"

Glasgow indie rock/punk band Gallus have released their new single "Eye to Eye".

Speaking about it, Guitarist Eamon Ewins says: “The song was written coming up for a year ago. Barry and I sat down to write the lyrics about how polarised society was becoming in the run up to the General Election, but then as we got closer to lockdown we saw how the pandemic was polarising people even further. We’ve seen all the various injustices that have all been exacerbated by the current crisis. The complete and utter failure of people to work towards common interests and goals when power or money is at stake. That’s why we chose to put a wee half verse in that explicitly acknowledged the pandemic.”

“We first demoed the song with our pal Blair Crichton of Dead Pony, and he brought a lot of cool ideas that ended up on the final cut we recorded at 7 West with Johnny Madden and Chris Marshall. It was initially recorded in November 2019 but it hadn’t been performed live at that point so we went back in to finesse it in mid March after we properly got a feel for the song in front of an audience. We’re really lucky to have a lot of talented people outside the core 5 members of the band work with us. There’s nothing wrong with cooperating and collaborating as nothing exists in true isolation, which at the heart of it is what the song is about.”

New Entry: Hallan Release New Single "Modern England"

Portsmouth indie rock/alt/post punk band Hallan have released their new single "Modern England".

The song is out today (August 7) through Nice Swan Records. Get it here.

UPDATE 10/08/2020: "Modern England" is our new Single of the Week!

Drawing influences from the people you cross every day – in the supermarket aisles, on your Facebook feed, next door neighbours – Hallan observe and commentate on British life via an Orwell-influenced bleak vision of the future and the cut-up style of Burroughs and other beat generationers. Heavily influenced by the classic post-punk sounds of Joy Division and The Fall, ‘Modern England’ is a hard-hitting social commentary on England today, from the housing crisis and plummeting employment rates to Brexit and uninspiring modern indie music, that frontman Connor Clements wrote over the top of an instrumental demo.

He says of the track: “It’s the characters in our town, the conversations they have and what we see on our television sets. We want to reflect what’s going on in the here. We don’t want to make a one-sided political message or talk for a generation. The song is exactly what it sounds like. A condensed England if you will. With so many strange and vapid trends gripping the nation sometimes you have to take it all in and find some humour beneath the surface. Pugs and face changing apps. What’s that all about? And how could we forget Brexit? It’s a good job we all have our red passports. But then again does anyone in the country have a clue what’s ever going on? Maybe it’ll all blow over if I stick to my microwave dinner and keep my eyes on the screen.”

From the band: "Dopamine is about being so caught in the whirlwind that is love - letting it consume you and throw you around without giving it a definition or needing to explain it.
