The Killers Unleash Music Video For "boy"

Las Vegas indie rock band The Killers have unleashed the video for their latest single “boy”.

The song, produced by the Killers, Stuart Price, and Shawn Everett came out last week via Island Records. Get your copy here.

Frontman Brandon Flowers explains: “This was the first song written after we had to cancel the ‘Imploding The Mirage’ tour due to the pandemic. I had recently moved back to Utah and started to make trips to Nephi, where I grew up. I found that the place I had wanted to get away from so desperately at 16 was now a place that I couldn’t stop returning to. I have a son approaching the age I was at that time in my life. With ‘boy’, I want to reach out and tell myself – and my sons – to not overthink it. And to look for the “white arrows” in their lives. For me now, white arrows are my wife, children, my songs and the stage.”

Broken Bells Air New Single/Video "Saturdays"

Los Angeles duo Broken Bells (comprised of Danger Mouse aka Brian Burton and James Mercer of The Shins) have aired the video for their new single "Saturdays".

The song is taken from their forthcoming new album 'Into the Blue', which will be released on October 7 via AWAL. Pre-order your copy here.

A press statement describes the new album as “a genre and decade-hopping ode to the duo’s shared musical influences, from The Beatles to Pink Floyd, from ‘60s psychedelia to ‘70s rock and AM Gold, from ‘80s new wave to ‘90s trip hop, and beyond”.

The song sees Burton and Mercer crafting a signature Broken Bells study in contrasts, as sweetly sung and melancholy lyrics float atop a backdrop of sun-drenched melodies that conjure a late summer weekend afternoon. Directed by Johnny Chew, the video for “Saturdays” aptly suits the song’s timeless retro-modern sonic palette with visuals inspired by the concept of travelling through space and time.

Cold Showers Reveal Music Video For "Sliver"

Los Angeles based post-punk/no-wave/electro band Cold Showers have revealed the video for their latest single "Sliver".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their recent EP 'Strength In Numbers', released in June 10 through Dais Records. Get it here.

In the swirling, arpeggiated depths of “Sliver” – a song so elusive they’ve been trying to record it since 2015 – a shredded, shrouded guitar solo curls into the clouds and slowly decays, framing a couplet that hints at the group’s enduring, elemental presence: “there’s no coming back / as if mountains could move / lay me on broken glass / next to a picture of you.”

Editors Unleash New Single/Video "Kiss"

British indie rockers Editors have unleashed the video for their new single "Kiss".

The song is taken from their upcoming seventh studio album 'EBM', which will be out on September 23 via Play It Again Sam. Pre-order your copy here.

With its atmospheric disco-infused synths, energising drum machines and soaring falsetto vocals, singer Tom Smith describes it as a “crying on the dancefloor banger”, while Benjamin John Power states it “could almost be a Donna Summer song,” if it wasn’t so heavy.

Speaking on the video, Justin says: “The idea of this video came out of a want to do something simple and abstract that didn’t read too deep into the lyrics or any kind of blow by blow literal take on the lyrics. It was more about using the title to spark a theme to work on, using movement as the core medium. The idea I landed on would be to show the story of two souls constantly attracting and repelling each other, never quite fully coming together… until ultimately they succumb to being intertwined together for better or for worse.”
