Watch: Two Wounded Birds Reveal Video For 'To Be Young'

Two Wounded Birds have been on our radar for more than a year now and we've playing their songs in our regular rotation. Their self-titled debut album hit Kool Rock Radio in April 2012, and was oficially released last month on Holiday Friends Recording Co. (Jacob Graham of The Drums' label).

Now the band have unveiled the music video for "To Be Young", one of our favourite songs on the album, which will be released as a single on August 5th.

The video was directed by Dom Bridges.
Watch it below.

Killing Joke Singer Jaz Coleman 'Missing'

Killing Joke singer Jaz Coleman has seemingly gone missing, with the band appealing to help.

Killing Joke, The Cult and The Mission were due to tour the UK together in September. But earlier this month a Facebook post, believed to be by Coleman, stated his band wouldn't take part.

The announcement, since deleted, said: "It gives me great pleasure to announce the cancellation of the upcoming gigs with The Cult and The Mission. Frankly, playing at a gig with The Cult never appealed to me in the first place.

"Gatherers would only get to listen to a one-hour set. Then there would be a problem with the dressing room and witnessing The Cult charge the fans $200 per head for a meet and greet.

"Lastly, all their songs suck! They clearly have no integrity (they refer to their hometown as LA)."

Now Killing Joke members Geordie Walker, Martin "Youth" Glover and Paul Ferguson report they haven't heard from Coleman since that announcement.

Days later, Wayne Hussey of The Mission took to his band’s website to address the rumors, writing, "I think the promoters have conceded that Killing Joke ARE puling out of the shows. We have tried to contact the band through their management, agents and promoters and it seems that no one is any the wiser and the band have gone incommunicado."

Now, Coleman bandmates, insist the concerts haven't been axed, and allege they haven't heard from Coleman and are concerned about him. Read Killing Joke's full statement below.

Status Update
By Killing Joke: Official
KILLING JOKE

Official Statement

A statement was posted on Facebook, reputedly by our singer, maligning both The Cult and The Mission and pulling us out of the shows.
He is now AWOL and has not contacted any of his band mates.

We are deeply embarrassed by this and offer our sincere apologies to all involved.

We are all concerned about our missing singer's welfare.

Killing Joke made a collective decision to play with The Cult and The Mission in September.

It was agreed by all of the band that we would do these shows. Indeed, we thought that they were something to look forward to, even though they were downsized.

We would still like to honour our commitment to this tour, the other bands, and all the Gatherers and people who have already bought tickets and made travel arrangements.

If this proves not possible, Killing Joke will make alternative arrangements to compensate for the trouble caused.

Meanwhile we are doing everything we can to make this tour happen and locate our missing singer.

Happy Mondays To Record New Album

According to manager Warren Askew, Manchester band the Happy Mondays will record a new album after their successful UK comeback tour earlier this year. This new material would be the re-formed line-up's first album since 1992's 'Yes Please!'.

"Yes, we are now planning to record a new album, after the success of the tour and with the band all getting on so well,” Askew has said. "Shaun has been writing and the band have been getting together in the studio putting ideas down. I’m sure it will be a great Happy Mondays album."

Frontman Shaun Ryder was quoted as telling the Daily Star: "At first there was no chance of the original line-up doing another album and then it went to maybe and now it's definitely gonna happen.

"I'm writing lyrics now. I'm always scribbling stuff so we'll take it to Sunny Levine, who will produce the album later this year."

The Fixx have unveiled the video for their brand new single 'Anyone Else', taken from their recently released (July 17) first new album in nine years 'Beautiful Friction'.

The Fixx achieved huge success throughout the whole of the Eighties, particularly in America where they scored three No.1 hit singles, five in the Top Five, a dozen reaching the Top Ten, as well as selling millions of albums in the US and right around the globe. The band’s greatest hits album has sold more than two million copies to date.

About the album, lead singer Cy Curnin said:

"It seems we've all ground to a bit of a halt with so much unrest, the Occupy movement, debt, war and more. We ultimately see this album as positive, eager for the dawn of a new era, the possibility to change the way we see the world and to view it with more optimism. That's why we called it Beautiful Friction – the times we live in are tough, but there's a beauty in that. There's a hope."

Mumford & Sons Announce New Album 'Babel'

Mumford & Sons are set to release their second album 'Babel' on September 24th.

Speaking about the album, the band stated: "We are more than excited to release 'Babel' into the world. We had started writing new songs well before we got into the studio to record. At first, we peeled ourselves off the road quite reluctantly. We love playing live, obviously, but it had also become an important part of our creative process, we had been writing and rehearsing in soundchecks, and sort of ‘road-testing’ new songs on our very gracious audiences. But then we fell in love with recording again.

"The album started to come together, and with the help of Markus Dravs once more (and engineer Robin Baynton), we started to relish the challenge of making this album.  As a band, we’ve never been closer or more collaborative, all working to our strengths. And so we feel that this record is a natural progression that we’re proud of, and we cannot wait to take it out on the road."  They added.

'Babel' is the second Mumford & Sons’ album, following 2009 debut 'Sigh No More'.

Friendly Fires Could Release New Material Under A New Name

According to  Friendly Fires' frontman, Ed MacFarlane the band could release new music under a different name due to the direction their new material is moving in.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, MacFarlane has said that new music he is working on with his bandmates is  not sounding like anything the group have produced to date, meaning they could be unleashed on the general public under a new name at some stage in the future.

"We've been working on eight-minute long tracks that don’t sound anything like what we do now," he said.

Macfarlane has also expressed that he's comfortable with the concept of releasing the material under a new moniker: "The music is what it's all about for us so if it means we release under a different name then that’s fine."

The news come after a previous word from the band that they won't be recording material until they have something 'distinct' on paper. After some time in the studio, the band announced that they had goodies to offer the fans, describing that "We've been tentatively putting together new music. We're working on quite a few things and we need to finish those off. It sounds a bit more thoughtful, a bit more downbeat, it's still quite fast, but it's krauty. We'll see what happens once we've pulled it all together."
