Nation of Language Unveil New Single "From The Hill"

Brooklyn post punk/new wave/synth-pop outfit Nation Of Language have unveiled their new single "From The Hill", alongside an accompanying music video.

The song is out now and is the trio's first new music since 2021's album 'A Way Forward'. Get it here.

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Ian Devaney said in a statement: “From the Hill” is a song reflecting on times when friendships fall apart over romantic entanglement, accompanied by the sensation that you’re somehow watching it happen from above with a more zoomed-out perspective. It can feel at times like certain parts of life are a story with which you’re just following along—the characters enter, they play their role, and then they leave. Often it’ll feel sudden and catch you off guard, and other times you’re able to see that it’s the only way things could have played out despite what you may have wanted. For us, we’re in a moment right now where it feels good to get this out into the world. It’s one that didn't really feel like it fit the vibe of A Way Forward, nor is it any real indication of where the next record is likely heading. When that situation arrives we like to use these 7" releases to step outside the larger framework that the albums provide and just release a track that we love, so this is us doing that once again.

Buzz Kull Releases "Rise From Your Grave" Music Video

Sydney darkwave/synth pop producer Buzz Kull (AKA Marc Dwyer) has released the video for his newest single "Rise From Your Grave".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from his forthcoming new album 'Fascination', set to arrive on November 25 through Avant! (EU). Pre-order your copy here.

"Rise From Your Grave", a phrase gleaned from the 1998 SEGA game, Altered Beast, is a throbbing, thoroughly danceable song underpinned by a sepulchral fog.

Directed by Joel Burrows, the video was filmed through layers of glass and broken television sets — spliced with macro shots of entwined, serpentine cables - It’s almost a metaphor of an audio death, a funeral pyre. Marc’s body is filmed so many times that it becomes destroyed and turned into ghost-like images.

Watch it below.

Buzz Kull Announces New LP 'Fascination', Airs "Rise From Your Grave"

Sydney darkwave/synth pop producer Buzz Kull (AKA Marc Dwyer) has announced the release of his new studio album 'Fascination'.

The follow-up to 2018's  New Kind Of Cross, will be out on November 25 through Avant! (EU). Pre-order your copy here.

The Australian master of the dark synth arts is back and - boy - he is out for blood. We've been missing Marc Dwyer solo project Buzz Kull since his latest single Last In The Club from late 2019 and since back then we knew he was up to something.

At first glimpse, the minimal wave early days seem far away now that Marc has gone full Body Music with his upcoming new album, but there is a thread that binds Buzz Kull hits from the past with these ten new cuts: a thread of darkness proper to the most handsome man in the game and that’s here to stay.

First single "Rise From Your Grave", a phrase gleaned from the 1998 SEGA game, Altered Beast, is a throbbing, thoroughly danceable song underpinned by a sepulchral fog.

Echoes of 90’s era Front 242 and Front Line Assembly will resonate from tracks like Fascination and Dead Inside; elements of early body music flirting with the dark side of British synthpop will rave from the grooves of Dancing with Machines and Man on the Beat, while late 80’s Belgian new beat cellar-like vibes rise from Do You See and Burn it to the Ground.

But Buzz Kull's third full-length is not just about music subgenres we all know and love, it’s about a feeling that comes alive only with the dark and drives you through the small hours just to leave you drained and filled at once.

The creature of the night is on the loose, the sticky dancefloor its natural habitat, its lust for the upside-down world of the club can't be cured.

Check out the album's tracklist and listen to "Rise From Your Grave" below.

TEEEL Announce New LP 'We Live Here Now', Stream "Dorsia"

New Jersey electronic/synth pop/synth wave outfit TEEEL have announced the release of their new album 'We Live Here Now'.

The eelecven-track record was written, produced and performed by Jim Smith, and will be out on August 22. Pre-order your copy here.

From the band: "We Live Here Now" is inspired by our new life in San Diego. Over the last four years, there were many highs and lows. From spending time at the beach to being trapped indoors during a pandemic, this collection of songs captures those feelings.

"We Live Here Now" is full of thick synth bass lines, crunchy and powerful drums, lush synth textures, floaty stacked vocals, and Steve's guitars range from soft and acoustic to dark and dirty. Some songs are upbeat and energetic and some are chill and grooving. From light to dark, this album has a full range of emotion. It's also reflected in the cover art by showing the sky in a unique way. This is perfect for fans of bands like M83, New Order, and 311 to even modern synthwave and indie acts.

Temples of Youth Premiere New Single "Keen To Be Clean"

Taking inspiration from C86 artists and US indie - they have developed their own sound, strong on hooks, melodies and heartfelt lyrics.

Glasgow-based synth pop/electronic/minimal/dark wave musician JJD aka Soft Riot has aired the Soft Riot's Sodium Glow Version" of his trackWindows To The Wild".

This track has taken on an extended life of its own, with Athens-based EBM artist Qual (William Maybelline of Lebanon Hanover) picking it up to do his own stompy, aggressive rework followed by Glasgow-based dark electronic disco group Ubre Blanca (Giallo Disco) twisting the track into a propulsive, rhythmic dance number. Rounding out these two new mutations of "Windows To The Wild", Soft Riot himself has cooked up an alternate version of the track into a new, extended “Sodium Glow Version”. These three versions are gathered on this release as a digital 3-track EP to present to the world while a new album by Soft Riot starts to come together behind the scenes for release in 2023.
