Manchester indie disco/pop band Peacock Method have unleashed the video for their latest single "Slowly".

Taking a different narrative approach to their debut "I Don’t Mind", ‘Slowly’ was described by the band as illustrating “an indifferent approach to casual sex and a tongue in cheek comment on the sensations of a one night stand. Its about living life too quickly and switching up presumptive roles of genders in the bedroom.”
A fitting subject matter for a band to whom gendered aesthetics mean very little, yet it’s also a frenetic and funk-driven track that proves exactly as to why the band are such an exciting prospect amidst a sea of parker-sporting mediocrity.
Lincoln indie rock/alt four piece Vigilantes have dropped the video for their latest single "Drawing Auras".

The drive of racers to block out everything and hold the racing line and the auras that they have, encapsulate this song. We watched F1 religiously whilst recording Drawing Auras and stopped recording drums mid take in the studio to witness Verstappen beat Hamilton."
Los Angeles indie pop/rock duo Child Seat, made up of Madeleine Mathews (MAWD) and Josiah Mazzaschi (Light FM, Bizou), have unveiled their new single "Off With a Bang", and its accompanying music video.
The song is out today (July 14) now via Moonboot! Records and is taken from their forthcoming debut album set for release on August 5th. Get it here.
“I was stuck in an emotional destructive cycle of manipulation (many times in life) and the other person painted me as the bad guy to all of the people around them to make themselves feel/look better,” Mathews explains. “Though the things they said weren’t true. It’s not until I realized I wasn’t the problem, that I felt truly empowered. When I finally saw that I’d been fed poison/lies all along, it completely altered my perception of the person and situation. It created a new sense of self-wort and that definitely comes with being naive and going through growing pains of life.
“After pulling the wool from my eyes, I felt empowered and though its a bit exaggerated, I took on this idea of wanting to be a femme fatale – seeking revenge. Not actually through violence, but through continuing to be successful in life, love, and leaving the shitty people behind.”
South London alt band ALASKALASKA (headed by Lucinda Duarte-Holman and Fraser Rieley) have announced the release of their new album 'Still Life'.
The 11-track album will be out on October 14th via Marathon Artists. The production on Still Life kick-started in August 2021 with producer and musician Jas Shaw (of Simian Mobile Disco), nestled in the idyllic Kentish countryside, opposing the somewhat grimier setting the album was written in. This collaboration, added to their ideas and maturing musical sensibilities, allowed the record to bloom into a beautiful, hard-to-describe thing that embraces a more free-form electronica. It also finds lyricist Duarte-Holman at her most contemplative,"... touching on themes of the beautifully mundane and the privilege of being able to recognise those things.” That is what a Still Life often depicts, explains Duarte-Holman, “...it can be a celebration of material pleasures or a warning of the ephemerality or overconsumption of these things - and of the impermanence of human life." If there's one thing the pandemic taught us, it's not to take anything for granted.
To accompany the exciting news they've shared the title track with a video. 'Still Life' finds writers and producers Lucinda Duarte-Holman and Fraser Rieley embrace a more free-form electronica, giving a taste of what's to come with this fantastic new record produced by Jas Shaw (of Simian Mobile Disco)–full of digital sounds, drum machine and synth melodies cunningly sat beside rich, organic, acoustic instrumentation, it's a looping tug of war between existential dread and everyday simple pleasures.
The track delves into the irony of connecting to each other through screens, though they're largely being used for our own vanity, distraction, or surveillance. The band says: "Still Life asks, is what is supposed to connect us on a worldwide scale being used more for vanity/ego, distraction or even surveillance/control? 'Look at it breed, modern greed...'. It's a bit of a cautionary tale, much like 1984...if you get my drift. Still though, there are glimmers of hope - 'I've got the seed in my pocket....' as in I've got seeds to sow, seeds to grow. Small gestures can make big changes."

Toronto-based post punk/lo-fi/dream punk project Fake Palms (aka Michael le Riche) has shared the video for his ne single "Visions".
The song is taken from his forthcoming third studio album 'Lemons', which will be out on September 16th via Hand Drawn Dracula Records. Pre-order your copy here.
The arch jangle of “Visions” evokes Lee Ranaldo linking up with the bubblegum-savvy early Wire while finding le Riche tapping into some of his poppiest moments as a songwriter following his previous work as Fake Palms, as well as the soupy electronica of Sauna and art-rock of Darcys. The track erupts with slashing guitar and quickfire percussion which matches Michael's vocals toe for toe. Speaking about the track, he says: "Visions" is the sound of power chords and an overactive right arm. No more intricate, overly complex guitar parts or different time signatures. It’s Buzzcocks or the Dead Boys at its core, angular and jangly. "Musically, it's the most direct thing I've ever done. No hiding behind walls of reverb, mutating time signatures, or vague lyrics."
