Watch: Johnny Hunter Unleash Music Video For "Life"

Australian post punk/alt band Johnny Hunter have unleashed the video for their latest single "Life".

The song is part of our current playlist and came out last month through Cooking Vinyl Australia. Get it here.

Behind 'Life': "To find life is to find happiness, it is the ultimate end and purpose of our existence. Life is not found in the darkness of the night, nor is it found in selfish ideals. It lies in the balance of the new day and how we approach our imperfections to bring balance to ourselves. The answer to the floor, an ultimatum proposed to the self, to change or die, to sink or swim. The sun is shining, it's time for a change, appreciate what you have, know who you are and lose yourself in Life".

Watch: Screensaver Unveil Music Video For "Buy / Sell / Trade"

Aussie post punk/synth wave band screensaver have unveiled the video for their newest single "Buy / Sell / Trade".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their debut album 'Expressions of Interest', released earlier this month (October 8th) through Upset The Rhythm and Heavy Machinery. Get your copy here.

On the video to  B/ST the band say: "Welcome to your psychedelic VHS nightmare/dream. In the Buy/Sell/Trade video clip we invite you to dive into the clutter. Everyday we’re overloaded with words and images that at a point everything we see and read becomes almost meaningless.

The video concept is about language and visuals and how we as individuals inject meaning into both. The use random words throughout the clip aims to stimulate a response in the viewer, the meaning of which is unique to each person processing the words and creating their own subjective context. The words are unrelated to the songs lyrics, but their meaning now tied to the song can suggest whatever the individual viewer chooses to conclude.

Videographer and multimedia artist Haiden Nettle dug deep into his collection of old science VHS tapes, gathering footage he felt most appropriate for the vibe of the track. Footage of the band was then layered on top and recorded to VHS tape through a video-mixer. Images and text from old copies of the obscure magazine Nexus were turned into rotating 3D objects that surround the band. The overall effect is a visual overload of colour and movement to accompany the synth-driven krautrock jammer that will make you think about the visual and sensory bombardment of life in the world today."

Watch: Surfbort Air New Single/Video "Happy Happy Halloween"

Brooklyn punk band Surfbort have aired the video for their halloween single "Happy Happy Halloween".

The song is out today (October 21), the band's new album "Keep on Truckin’", came out earlier this month. Get it here

“Halloween is our favorite holiday and we celebrate it everyday so we wanted to make an extra spooky song to celebrate the ghouls and ghosts “says front woman, Dani Miller. The band went in thinking they were going to do a cover, but their ever-brilliant manager and album producer, Linda Perry, had other ideas, “Linda just started playing spooky Dracula noises on the keys and the rest is history. Happy Happy Halloween.” The song gives a gnarly twist on the Halloween songs we listened to as kids, think Monster Mash, but with the psyche of Freddy Kruger, name-checking their favorite goth idols Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy and Christian Death.

The video, shot and directed by Perry, features the band in vivacious costumes (bass guitarist Nick Arnold as Bob Ross is a must-see) and really shows the members in their unearthly element. It’s not hard to see why Surftbort owns Halloween.

The song is taken from their forthcoming debut EP 'Euphoria', which will be out on January 14 through So Young Records. Pre-order it here.

From the band: "Heartbeat starts on the tips of your fingers and soles of your feet. A faint pulsing energy as the anticipation builds, it’s warm and the dense air adds to the atmosphere. Condensation blurs and streaks the light, you only catch snippets of movements when silhouettes briefly light up to show you the full figure. You do not want the night to end. Take it all in. This is opulence, this is escapism."

Watch: Cuffed Up Reveal New Single/Video "Terminal"

Los Angeles, CA indie-punk/post punk band Cuffed Up have revealed the video for their new single "Terminal".

The song is taken from their new EP  'Asymmetry', out tomorrow (October 22) through Royal Mountain Records. Get it here.

“I wanted to write a song that projects the anxiety and irrational thoughts that my body and mind go through during my worst ‘episodes,’ says vocalist  Ralph Torrefranca. “The first chorus is a cry for help. It’s the dark place where my mind goes when the health OCD is at its worst: I’m convinced I’m going to die today and the universe has already decided this for me, and I have no control over this. The final chorus is when the irrational thoughts are pulled back down to earth and I manage to ground myself through meditation.”
