Watch: Idle Youth Unveil New Single/Video "Enter/Desire"

London dream pop/indie pop band Idle Youth have unveiled the video for their brand new single "Enter/Desire".

"Enter/Desire is a heartfelt, melancholy ode to both the past and future, exploring how hard relationships are to find, maintain, and put behind you in current times. It evokes this nostalgia and quiet optimism through dramatic, glimmering synthesizers on the top line, a meandering bass line and intimate vocals."

Maximo Park Announce New LP 'Nature Always Wins', Stream "Baby, Sleep"

Newcastle indie rock band Maximo Park have album announced the release of their seventh studio album 'Nature Always Wins'.

Nature Always Wins arrives as something of an examination, zeroing in on the notion of the self, identity as a band, and that of humanity as a whole.

The title nods to the famous Nature vs Nurture debate. Discussing whether change is capable under the influence of time, perspective, environment or if we are destined to be bound by our own genetics, it asks, “who are we, and who do we want to be, and do we have any control over it?”.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets Announce New LP 'SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound', Stream "Tally-Ho"

Australian psych/grunge/rock band Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have announced the release of their new album  'SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound'.

The follow-up to 2019’s LP And Now For The Whatchamacallit, will be out on February 5th 2021. Pre-order your copy here.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have used their time off road to continue preparing themselves for the release of their fourth studio release, and an eventual blistering return to stages around the world with a heavy-hitter of an album primed for the live space.

We have already heard their album's first single ‘Mr. Prism’ in August, now the band have shared their new track "Tally-Ho".

The creation of SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound, came together in a different environment for McEwan and the results speak to the band’s evolution and McEwan’s evolution as a songwriter.

“For the first time in a long time I was home without any tours booked, no work, no deadlines and I felt free to create. My writing process became ritualistic; every morning starting with a small walk to the local bottle shop at 11am and writing whatever flowed, allowing myself to design in all styles without boundaries, and not trying to theme the album early on. I haven’t had the luxury of writing this way since the first record, which I spent almost a year working on. It felt like I was myself again, creating without opinion or constraints. I was gliding through weeks with a day seeming to pass.”\

Check out the album's tracklist and listen to "Tally-Ho" below.

SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound Tracklisting:
01. Big Dijon
02. Tally Ho
03. Sawtooth Monkfish

Spunsugar Detail Debut LP 'Drive-through Chapel', Stream "Belladonna"

Swedish shoegaze/alt band Spunsugar have shared full details for their highly anticipated  debut album 'Drive-through Chapel'.

Featuring the previously shared single "Happier Happyless", the 11-track record will be out via Adian Recordings on Friday 2nd October. Pre-order your copy here.

The record outing sees them take on the dark and pulsing nature of the post-punk sound and deliver it through a completely new and diverse contemporary lens. Produced by Joakim Lindberg at Studio Sickan, Malmö, who has filled it with a rich and textured atmosphere running the length of this new collection, ‘Drive-Through Chapel’ sets itself as one of the most thunderous and anthemic offerings in the Adrian Recordings catalogue.

They are more often compared to Curve, Swervedriver or Ringo Deathstarr rather than the likes of Cocteau Twins or Slowdive. Although heavy on effects, nothing is hidden within the music, including the lyrics. The lyrics are heavy with pop cultural references, stemming from Cordelia’s love for obscure genre films. Often driven by riffs rather than soundscapes, they focus equally on having a prominent bass as well as prominent guitars.

“We call ourselves an alternative rock band with shoegaze influences. Sound wise, imagine if Alternative Nation on MTV 1997 and a drum machine fall into a cotton candy machine. The cotton candy wheel breaks and derails. We grew up farmer offsprings, bible belt kids of fundamentalists and trailer trash in small towns of Sweden. These are our references and this shapes our sound.” – Spunsugar

The band have also shared their new single "Belladonna," a Shoegaze pop tune about suicide you can dance to? Why yes, Belladonna is a nice sing-a-long song about questions about whether those suicidal thoughts are hereditary or if you’re just depressed because you’ve seen your parent not wanting to live anymore. About not feeling that you’re worthy of love. And what a banger it is! The first single by Spunsugar that showcases the singing chops of bass player Felix, who sings in unison with lead singer Elin in the chorus. Keep your ear out for the parts where all three members are singing at the same time. The closest to Beach Boys Spunsugar has ever been.

Check out the album's tracklist and listen to "Belladonna", below.

Drive-Through Chapel Tracklist:
01. Jawbreaker
02. Happier Happyless
03. Where You Run Through
04. Belladonna
05. Time Enough At Last
06. Video Nasty
07. Run
08. Dial Up Tone
09. Native Tongue
10. I Shouldn’t Care
11. Wishes

Stats Announce New LP 'Powys 1999', Stream "Naturalise Me"

London alt/disco/punk funk/pop band Stats have announced the release of their sophomore album 'Powys 1999'.

The follow-up to last year's debut Other People's Lives, will be out on November 13th via Memphis Industries, featuring their new single "Naturalise Me". Pre-order your copy here.

About the new song, lead singer Ed Seed says: "Growing up I felt like I didn’t fit in or belong where I was born and raised. I’m sure a lot of people feel this way. When it comes to the countryside we often talk about the natural - and by implication the unnatural - as if we are talking about the real, and by implication the fake. I felt somehow fake in Powys as a born incomer, un-local, neither Welsh nor English. But by looking at the landscape I started to realise the construction and extraction behind it, and the myth of its naturalness."

On the album, he comments: "Powys 1999 was recorded at a residential studio near Powys. I knew we had to go back to Wales to make this album. I also knew I didn't want it to be sunny and meaninglessly pretty. It had to be October, when the weather's unpredictable. I wanted the band to be able to step outside and feel that."

"This record isn’t exactly about Powys or 1999, but I was reaching for that landscape and thinking about some of the people who I grew up with, and especially the different reasons people came from elsewhere to live there." He added.

Check out the tracklist and watch a lyric video for "Naturalise Me" below.

Powys 1999 Tracklist:
01. Come With Me
02. On The Tip Of My Tongue
03. Old Flames
04. Naturalise Me
05. Kiss Me Like It’s Over
06. Out Of Body
07. Travel With Me Through This Ghost World
08. Innocence
09. The Truth Is Naked

Watch: Sinclaire Release Music Video For "Let's Fly To Rome"

Sydney indie pop/rock five-piece Sinclaire have aired the video for their newest single "Let's Fly To Rome".

The song is part of our current playlist and is out now. Get it here.

Speaking about it, frontman said: "Let's Fly to Rome is about wanting to escape from normality with somebody special. It's a euphoric daydream fuelled by love, sporadic decisions and a complete disregard for rational thinking. When I wrote the song I had feelings for a girl who lived in another city. I sat down and pictured packing my things and leaving my repetitive day-to-day life to go on this grandiose adventure with her."

"Sadly, the distance eventually caused us to drift apart... but back then we spent many late nights on the phone talking about a world of "what-ifs" where we could run away and be together. Maybe if we did, we could have "had it all” but in reality, it's a tangent that I (and most people) will never live. We're all too scared to take the plunge to do something completely irrational, which maybe is for the best - or maybe, it's not."
