Listen: David Bowie Unreleased "Let's Dance" Demo

An early demo of David Bowie's "Let's Dance" has been released to celebrate what would have been the rock icon's 71st birthday today (January 8).

The track, which featured on the 1983 album of the same name, was recorded a year previously after Chic founder Nile Rodgers  in Geneva, Switzerland, late 1982, and has now been released for the first time in 35 years.

Speaking about the recording session recently, Nile Rodgers said: "I’ve been blessed with a wonderful career but my creative partnership with David Bowie ranks very very very high on the list of my most important and rewarding collaborations. This demo gives you, the fans, a bird's eye view of the very start of it! I woke up on my first morning in Montreux with David peering over me. He had an acoustic guitar in his hands and exclaimed, ‘Nile, darling, I think this is a HIT!’

Watch: Depeche Mode's Live Cover Video of David Bowie's "Heroes"

Depeche Mode have released a live cover video of David Bowie’s 1977 hit "Heroes".

The video was recorded during an encore of their set at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, which was the first date of their extensive ‘Global Spirit’, and has been released today (Sept. 22) as a celebration of the iconic song's 40th anniversary.

Watch A New Video For David Bowie's "No Plan"

A new EP called 'No Plan' collecting David Bowie’s final known recordings was released in honour of what would have been the icon's 70th birthday (January 8). 

The EP contains three new tracks, "No Plan", "Killing a Little Time", and "When I Met You", along with "Lazarus", taken from the same sessions that produced Bowie’s final album, Blackstar. Buy it here.

Listen: David Bowie's Final Recordings "No Plan" and "When I Met You"

Two of David Bowie’s last studio recordings "No Plan" and "When I Met You" have been revealed today, October 18th.

The songs, along with "Killing a Little Time", will feature on a new album of songs from his Lazarus musical. It was also recorded with longtime producer Tony Visconti and the same band that worked on his final album, Blackstar.

The Lazarus Cast Album is due for release on Friday (October 21), four days before previews for the Lazarus Musical start in London.

Music legend David Bowie Dies, Aged 69

Legendary star and one of the most influential musicians of his era, David Bowie, has died of cancer on Sunday, two days after his 69th birthday.

A statement was issued on his social media accounts, saying he "died peacefully, surrounded by his family" after an "18-month battle with cancer".

Bowie rose to fame in the early 1970s and was revered as an innovative songwriter and performer, including his particularly eye-catching alter ego Ziggy Stardust.

His many hits included "Let's Dance," "Space Oddity," "Heroes," "Life on Mars," "Rebel Rebel" and "Changes." He was also an actor, appearing in cult films such as "Labyrinth" and "The Last Temptation of Christ."

His last album, “Blackstar,” a collaboration with a jazz quartet that was typically enigmatic and exploratory, was released on Friday — his birthday. He was to be honored with a concert at Carnegie Hall on March 31 featuring the Roots, Cyndi Lauper and the Mountain Goats.

He had also collaborated on an Off Broadway musical, “Lazarus,” that was a surreal sequel to his definitive 1976 film role, “The Man Who Fell to Earth.”

David Bowie To Release New Album 'Blackstar' In January 2016

David Bowie has announced he will release his 25th album titled 'Blackstar', on 8th January, his 69th birthday.

According to The Times (London), the follow-up to 2013’s 'The Next Day' consists of seven tracks, and was recorded at New York’s Magic Shop studio with jazz musicians.

The lead single "Blackstar", will be released on November 20th and is not part of David’s theatre piece ‘Lazarus’.

New Entry: Desert Sound Colony Drops "Fashion" (David Bowie Cover)

London based mysterious musician Desert Sound Colony has dropped his cover version of "Fashion", one of the most iconic David Bowie tracks.

Created in the isolation of the British countryside, Desert Sound Colony is inspired by faintly remembered sounds and almost forgotten memories.

About the track, DSC told i-d vice: "Fashion was one of those tracks that really stood out to me when I was a kid listening to CDs in my parents car on the way to school. I remember being so taken with the groove and staccato use of Bowies voice. I think it is timeless and the original still kills it on the dance floor. I dare anyone to not get up and dance when it comes on. I chose to cover it because I wanted to show off another side to the project and create something that would really get the dance floor moving." Desert Sound Colony.

David Bowie Announces Career-Spanning Compilation, Including New Track

David Bowie has announced the release of 'Nothing Has Changed', a career-spanning collection of his music, including a new track recorded this year.

Covering fifty years of recorded works from his 1964 debut 'Liza Jane', through to a brand new recording made this year, 'Nothing Has Changed' (named after a lyric from the Heathen album opener Sunday) compiles tracks from every period of Bowie's career and features new single "Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)" will be released on November 17th. 

The new track "Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)" was recorded especially with Tony Visconti, and will be released as a limited edition 10” single and digital download on the same day, and will feature another exclusive 2014 recording on the B-side: "Tis A Pity She's A Whore".

Alongside the brand new A-side track, Nothing Has Changed features the previously unreleased "Let Me Sleep Beside You" from the Toy album sessions. The download only Your Turn To Drive will also be making its debut on CD for Nothing Has Changed and the 2001 re-recording of the 1971 outtake, Shadow Man, is included too.

Watch A New Video Version For David Bowie's "Love Is Lost" James Murphy Remix

David Bowie has released a new video version for the James Murphy remix of "Love is Lost", taken from the expanded version of Bowie's three-disc collector's edition of his first studio album in 10 years, 'The Next Day'.

This new version was directed by Barnaby Roper (Razorlight, Futureheads), and features computer-generated graphics of humans in various levels of undress and intimacy.

Arcade Fire Reveal More Details For New Double Album 'Reflektor'

Yesterday Arcade Fire debuted the single and video for the title track to their forthcoming new record, now the band have revealed more details about their now confirmed, double album.

The album artwork, inspired by Greek mythology, features a sculpture of the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice by Auguste Rodin.

As we previously reported, 'Reflektor', produced by James Murphy, will be released on October 29 via Merge, and will be a double album comprised of 13 songs. It is available to pre-order now on iTunes or via the Arcade Fire Online Store.

In a recent interview with BBC, Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler said they had written 50 or 60 songs, which were then redefined. 

 “[It] made more sense to stretch it out to two records. I never wanted to be in a band that could never play whatever music we wanted to, and I think that every record has been a project itself and some of the stuff on this record is really going to surprise people – it's even more different than ‘Reflektor’ I would say.” Butler explained.

"It’s longer than ‘The Suburbs’ – it’s a double record – mostly down to the fact that the songs are a lot longer,” he added. “I mean, ‘Reflector’ is seven-and-a-half, there’s another couple of seven-minute songs on the record and so it made more sense to stretch it out to two records with two distinct sides. It’s more of a classic double LP vibe where you have to flip the side and it takes you to a different place.” He added.

Watch: Arcade Fire Premiere New Single "Reflektor" Music Video

Canadian indie rock band  Arcade Fire have finally premiered the music video for their brand new single "Reflektor", taken from their upcoming fourth studio album of the same name, which will be out on October 29th by Merge.

The great new single features David Bowie on vocals and was produced by former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy.

It is actually the second video version for the song, eariler today the band unveiled an interactive experience filmed in Jacmel, Haiti and directed by their frequent collaborator Vincent Morisset. 

The black and white new video was directed by post-punk film/photography legend Anton Corbijn. Watch it below.

Watch: David Bowie Shares Music Video For "Valentine's Day"

David Bowie has shared the video for "Valentine's Day", the fourth single off his latest album 'The Next Day', released back in March. 

The single will be released as a 7" picture disc via ISO/Columbia on August 19th in the UK (August 20th in the US, other regional variations apply) with the instrumental track Plan on the flipside. You can pre-order your copy here.

The video was directed by Indrani and Markus Klinko, who previously collaborated with Bowie on the artwork for 2002’s Heathen album, and sees Bowie performing that track alone in an abandoned building.
