German indie-electro/cosmic pop duo COMA (aka Georg Conrad and Marius Bubat) have unveiled the video for their brand new single "Obviousm".

From the duo: “We wrote this 90s inspired song during the first Covid lockdown after our album tour was cancelled. It was the same time when we rediscovered Primal Scream’s album „Screamadelica“ after Andrew Weatherall passed away far too early in February 2020. We always loved music that is unclassifiable and this record is such a great combination of genres, we’d never deny it as an influence."

"Obviousm also is a search for meaningfulness in the stupidity of human behaviour. But we still couldn’t find out though. Just keep going!”.

From the duo: “This song is about challenges given by mood swings, about rituals, prevention and the soothing effect of starting (all over) again. The song was originally planned as a bonus single alongside our spring tour and festival summer, that both never happened. Yet we also think the song fits quite well to the beginning of a new year where maybe things can only get better. So with this track, we hope to transmit some good karma for a better 2021 and we both wish you a happy new year. Spread love and hope!”.

New Entry: Psychic Markers Air New Single "Clouds"

London, UK cosmic pop/krautrock/dream pop collective Psychic Markers (featuring members of Still Corners, My Sad Captains, Great Ytene and Grass House) have aired their new single "Clouds".

The song is taken from the upcoming self titled new album 'Psychic Markers', set to arrive on 29th May via Bella Union. Pre-order your copy here.

Speaking about it, the band said: “The pressures of society don’t begin in adulthood, they start as soon as you’re able to communicate and essentially from the moment you can walk, talk and shit by yourself. These initial milestones are the foundations of responsibility and invariably the moment the pressure mounts. Questions surrounding your future begin immediately, “What do you want to be when you get older?”, for example. This emphasis on the future only grows in tandem with the pressures of adulthood and my opinion is to live more in the present and to alleviate some of this pressure, especially in the young. Alan Watts describes it as the point in the middle of an hourglass, we have these huge spaces containing the past and the present but only one grain of sand for the present. This obviously makes it a particularly difficult place to exist.

“These points are echoed in Clouds, written from the perspective of a child who I feel should be encouraged to let the imagination run wild, look up to the clouds, the stars and be free.”
