Gemma Cullingford Drops "New Day (Rodney Cromwell Daydreamer Remix)

UK electronic/dark disco artist Gemma Cullingford (one half of electronic post-punk duo Sink Ya Teeth) has dropped the Rodney Cromwell Daydreamer Remix of her latest single "New Day".

The original version of the song is taken from her sophomore album 'Tongue Tied' set to be released on September 2. Get it here.

Rodney Cromwell has given the track an ethereal dreampop reinterpretation, using vintage ARP synths, melodica and a DR55 drum machine.

"As soon as I heard the track I loved it and knew the vocal would lean really to a dreampop reinterpretation. I busted out my faithful Boss DR-55 drum machine, stuck some chorus on the bass and re-imagined the song as something from New Order's 'Movement' had Gillian been on lead vocals and Robin Guthrie had been on guitar. And I think it's lo-fi enough as well to still be undeniably Rodney Cromwell"

Watch: CDSM Release New Single/Video "Concrete"

Atlanta, GA post punk band CDSM (a.k.a. Celebrity Death Slot Machine) have released the video for their new single "Concrete".

The song is out now and is taken from their forthcoming EP 'Hell Stairs', set to arrive on April 29th through Mothland and Exag' Records. Get it here.

“Concrete” takes you on a surreal stroll under the midnight Sun. Soon, dread and febrility vanish as you enter a crack in the street, leading to a hellish nightclub. You succumb to the temptation as you should.

The video was directed by Nic Huey, while Graham Tavel handled live audio recording and mastering for the track. This live rendition of the song was filmed in an active construction site on a set built by Nic, as well as band members Tyler and John, out of cinder blocks and wooden pallets. The decrepit hallway where the shooting took place is located in Yellow Studios, a new venue-to-be in Atlanta.

Watch: CDSM Share New Single/Video "GFH"

Atlanta, GA post punk band CDSM (a.k.a. Celebrity Death Slot Machine) have shared the video for their new single "GFH".

The song is out now and is taken from their forthcoming EP 'Hell Stairs', set to arrive on April 29th through Mothland and Exag' Records. Get it here.

While in the confines of their windowless subterranean concrete studio, CDSM is helmed by Ben Presley (vocals, guitar/bass, synthesizers, drums), Tyler Jundt (vocals, saxophone, synthesizers) and John Restivo Jr. (vocals, drums, percussion).

Hell Stairs is both glamorous and bleak, swanky and derelict, uplifting and crushing. It’s hedonism clinking in your glass, change jingling in the pit of your chest. Sure, it is post-punk meets darkwave meets no wave, but it’s even more so, an invitation to dance away the pain, in the form of croonesque laments, rumbling synths, swirling saxophone riffs and tight four-to-the-floor cadences. You now have the perfect clair-obscure soundtrack for a night at the local neon noir casino. You’re welcome.

Expect to be pleased with the contents of this first EP from Atlanta’s hot new commodity if you enjoy the musical tendencies of artists such as Viagra Boys, The Voidz, Total Control, Bodega or Fat White Family.

On “GFH”, CDSM alleviates our existential pain with a postmodern disco scorcher. Since the World is literally and physically crumbling around us, why not abandon ourselves to soothing rhythm sections, fierce saxophone flurries and manic synth modulations, as we’re told vivid tales of a double agent.

Watch: Justine Forever Reveals New Single/Video "Dream"

French electro/synth pop/synthwave producer/singer Justine Forever has revealed her new single "Dream".

The song is taken from her highly-anticipated debut album "𝐹𝐿𝐴𝑆𝐻" set to be released on October 29 through Her Majesty's Ship. Pre-order it here.

'Dream' stands for a sweaty, suspended reality. We search for our way in the dark, advancing through a fairytale kingdom that is more like Alice in Wonderland than Sleeping Beauty. While vintage drum machines will recall the early days of American techno, these reverberated and chanted voices breathe new life into historic electroclash. A referenced but personal track, in line with this first album.

New Entry: Justine Forever Shares New Single "Flash"

French electro/synth pop/synthwave producer/singer Justine Forever has shared her  infectious new single "Flash".

The song "a 'voyage nocturnal' under the city lights" is taken from her highly-anticipated debut album "𝐹𝐿𝐴𝑆𝐻" set to be released on October 29 through Her Majesty's Ship. Get it here.

Justine Forever's music evokes nightlife in its entirety. Like wanderings after the end of the day, we go from loss of senses to euphoria, from worry to reverie, from blinding colorimetry to elegant black and white. A total aesthetic universe constructed by the French musician as a world apart in which her pieces resonate like a call to abandon.

With Flash, Justine takes the Italian disco on a tour of a John Carpenter film. There is one of the successes of this album: its minimal approach which perfectly illustrates the adage "less is more". Flash is dark, cinematic, and terribly effective.

’Rebecca’, is track unsettling in all aspects, strings out of tune, naughty arpeggios delicately bouncing over psychedelic notes and the highlighted Koto dragging us to perceive the world music fibers. New Entry: Justine Forever Reveals New Single "Le Revenant"

French producer/singer Justine Forever has revealed her  infectious new single "Le Revenant".

The song is taken from her highly-anticipated debut album "𝐹𝐿𝐴𝑆𝐻" coming later this year through Her Majesty's Ship.

We open Le Revenant like a trap door to a secret world. Announced by a powerful and catchy kick / bass alloy, the voice of Justine Forever acts like an iron fist in a velvet glove. We “cruise” in the dampness of this little black synth pop nugget that sublimates Baudelaire’s poem here suffused with a dark and minimal modernity.

New Entry: Chinaski & Curses Unveil New Single "Forever"

Frankfurt-based DJ/producer Chinaski and Berlin-based nu-disco/dark disco/techno producer Curses have unveiled their collaborative single "Forever".

The song is out today (February 7) via Dischi Autunno. Grab it here.

Two men at the very forefront of the exciting new wave of dark disco; Chinaski and Curses have been in each others orbit for years and remixed each other but have never collaborated... until the label bring the two artists, who have been pushing these sounds with their dark disco stamp, together. This resulted in them making their own version of a pop song called “Forever” which is our choice for today’s premiere. The original comes with two remixes, one from the duo from Philly: “Zilla’s”, giving us a star gazing cosmic groove touched with a humanised rhythm and the second remix is from Chinaski himself which comes along with a dub version to be dropped for the one that loves the late nights and strobe lights.
