BLUDHOOD Release Music Video For "Alien"

Russian post punk/dreampop/shoegaze band BLUDHOOD have released the video for "Alien".

The song is taken from their album 'Witnesses of Days' released in March last year. Grab it here.

From the band: Many of us felt out of place, as did the hero of the clip. After looking at it, you will see an alien wandering slowly along the shores of the Adriatic Sea. They say that now it can be found on the sunny streets of Batumi, but that's a completely different story ...

Pink Turns Blue Air New Single/Video "Not Gonna Take It"

Berlin post-punk/alt rock band Pink Turns Blue have aired the video for their new single "Not Gonna Take It".

This is the first taste of their 'TAINTED Tour-2022 EP', the 4-track collection will be released on September, synchronized with the launch of the tour in Seattle before dozens of shows across North America, followed by select dates in Spain, the UK and Germany. Formed in 1985, the band emerged from a divided Germany and, once again we find ourself in a difficult situation geopolitically, this new single written in defiance of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Frontman MIC JOGWER says this is "about standing up for oneself and for a better world. Yes, the powerful, the bullies and the rich have many resources to get their way and claim that wrong is right. And yes, we all have our moments where we feel helpless and depressed because there doesn’t seem any way out of this cunning system of lies, propaganda, lobbying and influence. But every now and then, we just get fed up and decide we are not going to take it anymore. We find ways to break free, organize and fight for the things that are worth fighting for. Right now, it seems very difficult, at times impossible, naïve and all too idealistic. But if we give up fighting, we give up living. It is an uphill battle, but our defiance and our courage keep us going."

The band's latest album 'Tainted', came out in September 2021 via Orden Records. Get copy here if you haven't already.

Fake Palms Drops New Single/Video "Civil Liberties"

Toronto-based post punk/lo-fi/dream punk project Fake Palms (aka Michael le Riche) has dropped the video for his ne single "Civil Liberties".

The song is taken from his forthcoming third studio album 'Lemons', which will be out on September 16th via Hand Drawn Dracula Records. Pre-order your copy here.

The haunting "Civil Liberties" comes as another refreshing reminder of le Riche's smart ability to meld outsider-pop with post-punk, coating his sound in this metallic, slick sheen. It summons the sounds of The Strokes circa Room On Fire, Iceage and Omni with a pummelling rhythm track tied to a tingly, soaring chorus that’s impossible to shake after first exposure.

“Civil Liberties” manages the trick of sounding wistful and dystopian at the same time. “This record is the most direct thing I’ve ever done,” says Le Riche. “All the distorted guitars playing 16th-note riffs in different time signatures, washes of noise and buried vocals are basically gone. In their place we made a record that’s lean and a punch to the gut."

Vincent Christ Reveals New Single "I See Jets"

London indie rock/new wave/glam/post-punk artist Vincent Christ has revealed his new single "I See Jets".

Vincent explains: "I wrote the song after a dream I had about Alan Vega from the band Suicide. In the dream we were walking to a Mediterranean town down a long, winding hillside. Everything was orange and sunbaked. We talked as we walked and stopped to watch a game of basketball. I think we were walking to somewhere where we were supposed to perform later on, but we never got there. There was a heavy sense of paranoia in the dream. That feeling, as well as some of the things Alan said, inspired the lyrics and set the tone for this track."

The song is out today (August 11). Get it here and stream it below.
