Watch: Crystal Cities Air "Could You Love Me Again" Music Video

Sydney indie/dream pop band Crystal Cities have aired the video for their latest single "Could You Love Me Again".

The song is taken from their debut album 'Under The Cold Light Of The Moon', which came out in May 2019. Buy it here.

“We wanted to explore a different angle of interpretation of the lyrics for the music video. Love is portrayed so often in a romantic sense so instead we wanted to look at the love of family; in particular the bond that exists between that of a grandparent and grandchild. The story is a true tragedy in this instance since at the beginning of the video it is revealed that ‘Emily’ has been lost at sea, thus inverting the common experience of a grandchild losing their grandparent. We watch the boat captain go about his day-to-day mundane existence all the while being reminded of the seemingly simple but very rewarding moments he once shared with his granddaughter on the boat. He re-lives these moments as precious treasures in his mind. He appears to have reached a peaceful stage in the grieving process where he understands that the loving energy that he and Emily shared is not that far away and in fact still exists.” - Jared King (bass / backing vocals)

New Entry: Iv/An Reveals New Single "J.R.K."

Zagreb minimal synth/electronic musician Iv/An has revealed his new single "J.R.K.".

'Prvo Lice MnoΕΎine / JRK will be available on 7″ and digitally from February 14 via Fettkakao.

“J. R. K.” is written and recorded in the memory of Josip Reihl-Kir – the heroic peacemaker and the voice of reason, whose name for years remained obscure (therefore his name being displayed in initials in the song’s title), due to a political conspiracy orchestrated by the state authorities and members of the corrupt political party HDZ that already ruled Croatia in the summer of 1991, when ethnical conflicts in the eastern part of the country seriously began to rage, sadly spiraling out of control and into a horrific war not long afterwards.

New Entry: Loose Fit Unveil Debut Single "Pull The Lever"

Sydney no wave/post punk quartet Loose Fit have unveiled their catchy debut single "Pull The Lever".

Taken from the forthcoming self-titled EP, set for release through FatCat Records on April 3, "Pull The Lever" wastes no time in marking the band's intent. A purposeful, broad-shouldered, looping bass motif is set front-and-centre against wiry guitar chuntering and scatter-gun percussion. Lead singer Anna Langdon marries charismatic, pitch- black vocals to lyrics that mix oblique imagery with emotionally powerful subject matter. Pre-order it here.

The band’s rhythm-heavy sound contains echoes of UK post-punk titans such as Public Image Ltd, Maximum Joy and A Certain Ratio. They’re also fans of the US No Wave scene, especially the paint-stripper guitar of James Chance and the pop exuberance of Bush Tetras. Other pop/art heroes are Talking Heads and the B-52’s, while contemporary inspirations include Exploded View, The Native Cats, Raime and Nisennenmondai. Closer to home Loose Fit are enthusiastic devotees of their local music scene, gladly sharing stages with favourites like Exek, Tropical Fuck Storm, Party Dozen, Pinch Points and Negative Gears.
