New Entry: Headman Premieres New Single "No Surprises"

Swiss-born visual artist/DJ/producer and Relish Label owner Headman (aka  Robi Insinna) has premiered his new single "No Surprises".

This is the first single from the new Headman album. The track features vocals by Silver Jan and a remix by Zillas on Acid. It’s the first new material produced since the self-titled Robi Insinna mini album and SASM, the new band project with Douglas J McCarthy from Nitzer Ebb, released on Industria in 2018.

Robi Insinna has been releasing music since his debut in 2001. At the same time he started Relish Recordings, with the aim to re-create a vinyl label similar to the records he was buying at that time, obscure post–punk, new wave and disco records. Very inspired by the British Balearic scene and the Italian afro scene, he created Manhead as an opposite to Headman. The trademark Bass was always very present in Headman production.

Watch: De Lux Return With New Single/Video "New Summers"

Los Angeles based post-disco/dance-punk duo De Lux have returned with their new single "New Summers", alongside an accompanying music video.

The song is out today,  June 21, and is taken from their forthcoming fourth studio album ‘Do You Need A Release?’, which will be out on Sept 23rd via via Innovative Leisure. Get it here.

After writing, performing, recording, and producing three albums themselves, they’ve traded their typically hermetic recording process at their Burbank studio for a more collaborative experience. This time Sean and Isaac invited the members of their live band to record to tape at Jonny Bell’s Jazzcat Studio in Long Beach, CA. While De Lux has always been able to write immediately danceable and quirky pop songs with a strong dose of wit, these recordings get the sonic boost they deserve to match the quality and camaraderie of their intense and acclaimed live performances.

New Entry: Regressive Left Air New Single "The Wrong Side of History"

London post punk/new wave band Regressive Left have released their new single "The Wrong Side of History".

The song is taken from their forthcoming debut EP 'On The Wrong Side Of History', set to be released on July 15th on Bad Vibrations Records. Pre-order it here.

Recorded over an intense 5-day spell with in-demand producer Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, MIA, Amyl and The Sniffers) in Sheffield, ‘On The Wrong Side of History’ was immortalised over a handful of 11am-1am sessions in his studio. In many ways it is a time capsule of the maelstrom of ideas that got the group to this point in the first place – the infuriating, bleak political climate, and the urge to find escapism from it – consigned to vinyl in one herculean effort. Taking influence from the booming post-punk, funk and disco scenes of New York, Regressive Left’s sound is stark and danceable. Angular guitar scratches meet dirty synth basslines, whilst Simon Tyrie’s Edwyn Collins croon is chased around by effervescent drums. The banal horror of life in Tory Britain expressed with sharp and dry wit, and then set to truly barnstorming and infectious dance music.
