New Entry: Sleater-Kinney Unveil New Single "Can I Go On"

Portland, OR rock/punk band Sleater-Kinney have unveiled their new single "Can I Go On".

The song is taken from the upcoming album 'The Center Won't Hold', set to be released on 16th August via Milk! Records / Rhythmethod. Pre-order your copy here.

“In this song, a woman’s desire is used against her, so she turns it into a sinister infectiousness. The narrator finds herself on the brink of self-annihilation, grappling with the paradox of an internal darkness at odds with the pressure to outwardly perform modes of joy, relatability, and likability.” Carrie Brownstein explains.

The song came out last week (July 26).  Speaking about it, lead vocalist Matthew Riley said: “We’re incredibly happy with this track and have experimented more with synth, samples, and electronics during the production than ever before. Stay Up is inspired by the desire to help those close to you with their mental health battles while at the same time working out how to be that figure of solidarity to confide in. Watch: Hearts and Rockets Reveal Music Video For "Feelings"

Melbourne-based synth pop/post punk duo Hearts and Rockets (aka Kalindy Williams and Kurt Eckardt) have revealed the video for their latest single "Feelings".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their upcoming second studio album 'Power', set to arrive on August 23rd through Psychic Hysteria. Pre-order your copy here.

Williams said of the track, “Sometimes feelings just come on, out of nowhere, and there’s not much you can do about it! And that’s OK - it’s OK to talk about it, and sing about it, and complain about stuff and just. have. feelings. People get embarrassed about it, but everyone has those private moments alone where they think they’re the only ones going through something and it’s so often not the case. Let’s share more about this and create space to talk freely about them - good and bad! You have to live through them, you don’t have to feel like you’re doing it alone.”

New Entry: Outside The Academy Drops New Single "M.Y.O. Fiction"

Melbourne experimental musician/producer Pawel Cholewa aka Outside The Academy has dropped his new single "M.Y.O. Fiction".

Speaking about the track, Pawel explains “‘tis a punky, (a)political, unapologetic and unorthodox song (for OTA), wrapped up in a fast-paced indie-electro amalgamation of a track about angst, anger, helplessness, and perhaps, paradoxically, the death of (youthful) vigour and energy. ‘M.Y.O. Fiction’ is a nugget of stern, deadpan sarcasm that has explicit meaning, though without method or any particularised message. Or whatever.”

It will be out this Friday, August 2. Buy it here and take a listen below.
