London disco punk/riot grrrl band Bugeye have dropped their brand new single "When The Lights Go Out".
The song is out today (April 24) via independent label Reckless and is taken from their upcoming debut album 'Ready Steady Bang'. Get it here.
On the origins of ‘When The Lights Go Out’ singer Angela reveals,“It’s Friday night, at last the working week’s over, and guess what, it was a bit of a shitty week... again. Nothing changed, everything’s the same, so we go out and we drink with our mates to escape it all. Legendary night of self-medication, the downward spiral, before the week starts all over again. This song is about depression and using alcohol as a pick me up to freedom, only to find you are trapped in a cycle.”

London-based artist Nathalie Bruno synth/dub wave project Drift., has shared the video for her new single "Function".

Uninhibited by the limitations of two people and continuing their mission of “minimal means maximum effect,” The Vacant Lots’ Jared Artaud and Brian MacFadyen create an industrial amalgam of icy electronics and cold beats with detached vocals and hard hitting guitars..
The album creates order from chaos and delves into escapism, isolation, relationship conflicts, and decay. With nods to William S. Burroughs and Joy Division’s song of the same name, “Interzone is like existing between two zones,” Jared says. “Interzone doesn't mean one thing. It can mean different things to different people depending on their interpretation. Working on this album was a constant struggle reconciling internal conflicts with all that’s going on externally in the world. Interzone, in one word, is duality."
On Interzone, the band produced the 8 songs, 30 minutes record and teamed up with long term collaborators Ivan Liechti who designed the album artwork, and Ted Young who engineered the record. Maurizio Baggio mixed the record and contributed additional production and it was mastered by Gianni Peri.

LA-based conceptual pop band YACHT have revealed their cover version of the Sparks classic "Popularity".
The band's words: "Week six of quarantine and now we're dreaming about long nights driving aimlessly around Los Angeles with our friends, pinballing from place to place and feeling the sense of aliveness you get just from being in cars, showing up to parties, leaving, heading somewhere else, to the club, always moving & never going anywhere, detached from time until the night turns to morning. "Popularity" is our favorite song from our favorite Sparks album (1983's "In Outer Space")—a perfect ode to being a vapid LA person going everywhere at once, and to the simple satisfaction of being around other people and feeling popular. By the time we get back out into the world we'll have forgotten what our favorite places are called too.
