Manchester rockers The Rainkings have dropped the video for their new single "Good Times".
The song is out today (October 27) and all proceeds will go to the British Tinnitus Association. Get it here.
The Rainkings originally came together in 1989 when frontman Stephen Holt and guitarist Dave Swift departed from Inspiral Carpets and banded together with legendary Bodines drummer John Rowland and brief One Summer bassist Carl Wolstenholme.
They released their compilation album ‘Another Time’, 1989 – 1994’ in 2013, almost 17 years after the band split up. Now, in 2017, they release “Good Times,” , a song that was written in 1993 and that celebrates the life of former bandmate Chris Gill who sadly took his own life.
About the track the band said: “Inspiral Carpets are a part of us and are probably amongst most of our music collections. His legacy has influenced so many bands and was part of the sound of Manchester, but more importantly through his work with Inspiral Carpets reached an audience and told them that they were not alone. ‘Good Times’ which was written in 1993 which describes looking back on fond memories and was the obvious song choice to release in his honor.”
The video was directed by Matt Mead. Watch it below.
