New Entry: Llovers Drop New Single "Coming Loose"

Newcastle/Teesside indie pop band Llovers have dropped their new single "Coming Loose".

The song is out now via ThinkTank? Records, and is taken from their forthcoming debut EP 'Things That I Don’t Understand'.

The band's Jack Brooks explains: "'Coming Loose' deals with the anxieties that can come from being in a relationship, specifically one in which there’s little affection given from a paramour on the surface. It describes these feelings while also establishing which is used as a form of comfort within the narrative of the track."

New Entry: Underworld Share "Schiphol Test" (#DRIFT Ep.4 Pt.2)

Electronic icons Underworld have shared "Schiphol Test", Part 2 of Episode 4, of their #DRIFT series.

A mesmerising murmur of a bass groove, an electronic riff that cuts through like a crack of light and a vocal that serves to spin you further into a hypnotic state.

Schiphol Test is each of those things, in perfect harmony, and a whole lot more. Push. Push. Push. Push. Push. Push. Push. Push. Moving On.

"Rick started this on his iPad, waiting for a flight out of Schiphol airport. The second I heard those first opening bars of bass line and chords and groove I became fixated with finding a response with words that was as equally stripped and succulent" - Karl.

Drift is an ongoing experiment that will regularly publish new Underworld material – music, film, stories, etc. Pre-order the forthcoming album DRIFT SONGS here.

Watch: Metronomy Reveal Music Video For "Lately"

British indie dance band Metronomy have revealed the video for their newest single "Lately".

The song is out now via Because Records. Buy it here.

The video was directed by Joseph Mount, who explains: “This music video is a pop promo in the grand tradition of pop promos: End of school on a Friday afternoon, Mysterious little people that live in a cassette tape, concerned parents and special FX. The song and video are both about growing up.

I’ve absolutely loved taking the opportunity to direct our own music videos. I have quite strong opinions on what music videos are for in 2019 and how they should be presented and this has been a chance for me to put my money where my mouth is!

The most impressive thing I’ve realized is how much of a group effort creating a music video is. I’ve always known it, but this time I’ve obviously worked much closer with the various characters, involved in every department. So, thank you to them.”

Hibou Announces New Album 'Halve', Drops "Inside Illumination"

Seattle indie pop/jangle pop artist Peter Michel aka Hibou has announced the release of his third studio album 'Halve'.

The follow-up to his 2018´s Something Familiar, will be out on July 26th via Barsuk Records. Pre-order it here.

In Halve, Michel creates a characteristically ethereal record addressing the dichotomies between childhood and adulthood, self and society, authenticity and superficiality. The outcome is a work filled with swooning, hazy reflections on loss, love, nostalgia, and joy from a 10,000 foot view.

Michel's vocals comfortably twist from echoing whispers to punkish accusations; his guitar from dizzying surf hooks to lush 80s-inspired chords. Control – and the lack of it – reverberates throughout the album, and the consequence is a set of ten deeply vulnerable songs that will find you romanticizing your own childhood, your own teenage years, your own morning.
