Watch: Oliver Marson Airs Music Video For "Cocaine Romance"

London-based post punk/synth pop artist Oliver Marson has aired the video for his debut solo single "Cocaine Romance".

The song is out today (July 12) and is taken from the forthcoming EP of the same name. It takes inspiration from singers like Scott Walker, Nick Cave and John Cale and combines it with a retro synth pop sound similar to bands from the 80s such as Human League, Depeche Mode and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and also more modern bands like Drab Majesty, John Maus and Ariel Pink. Grab it here.

Speaking about it, Marson says: “The song itself was written about a friend of mine who began dating a drug dealer. I was worried more than anything, but I guess I secretly just really liked her. I would sit at the desk of my mundane office job, listening to new wave bands from the 80s and imagine all the things she might have been getting up to in these dark and seedy worlds that don’t even exist.”
