Miniatures Announce Debut Album 'Jessamines'

Melbourne-based shoegaze/dream pop band Miniatures have announced they will release their debut full-length album 'Jessamines' on October 6th via Saint Marie Records.

New Zealand expatriates Ché Walden and Annemarie Duff craft cinematic and emotive soundscapes, wrapped around warm and welcoming songs. With the addition of Chris MacLean on bass, the band worked with renowned Melbourne producer Matthew Hosking to record their first full LP. Pre-order your copy here.

Layering rich tones, beautiful textures, cascading melodies and angelic vocals, Miniatures build soundscapes that rise and fall like the ocean tide. Lush guitars wash over you until the wave of sound sweeps you out to sea. While swirling in a reverb riptide and drowning in delay, Annemarie's vocals shine like a beaming light from above.

Sure, you’ll pick up influences here and there: The Sundays, Lush, Cocteau Twins, Smashing Pumpkins, even a hint of Johnny Marr’s guitar adventurism. But ‘Jessamines’ is more than a sum of its influences. Miniatures have been working at careful songcraft for five years, and this is their coming out party. From track to track, Miniatures have crafted an album’s album, a journey through colour and mood, high and low, fuzzy and shiny, light and shade. Allow the waves to take you, and prepare to be swept away.

Jessamines Tracklist:
01. Try
02. Jessamine
03. To The Lake
04. Form Into Soft And Wild

07. What You Want

New Entry: DIET. Release New Single "Take Me"

Melbourne surf pop/rock/jangle pop band DIET. have released their catchy new single "Take Me".

With this song, the band have channeled the yearning for a sunshine filled romance. Following their ode to the classic Aussie tradition of streaking in 'Clothes Off', the surf jangle, five-piece have written a heartfelt adolescent plea to a love interest, at the tail end of a beach party.

Nostalgic synthesisers and playful guitar lines (influenced by The Smiths and The Cure) make for an affectionate and sweeping overture.
