Swedish post punk/alternative band INVSN have unleashed the video for their newest single "Immer Zu".
The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their upcoming new album 'The Beautiful Stories', available worldwide June 10 through Dine Alone Records. Pre-order your copy here.
About the video, the band explained: "Since we had written a song about what power and especially patriarchal power means to women, we wanted the video to represent that idea. We asked two friends who never done videos before to come up with an idea and a representation of strong women. We wanted the whole process, from idea to finished video, to be an empowering process with only women involved!"
"The guys had to stay at home, and we made a video with women, for women, by women, about what it means to be a woman in this world."
Austin/Houston future wave/synth pop duo Night Drive (aka Rodney Connell and Brandon Duhon) have premiered the video for their excellent single "Rise and Fall".
The song is part of our current playlist and is the first single taken from their upcoming self-titled debut album, due for release on June 16th via Roll Call Records.
"We wanted the overall sound to be a bit dreamy and distant, which relates to that feeling of your life disintegrating and slipping through your hands like smoke, being unable to hold on to it," the band says of "Rise and Fall". "But we also wanted an energetic intensity to it, which relates more to the feeling of rushing headlong towards an inevitable tragedy and being unable to avert it, no matter what you do or where you turn."
Watch the clip below, it was directed by Yoshi Sodeoka.
Fader, a new band formed by Neil Arthur (Blancmange/Near Future) and Benge (Wrangler/John Foxx & The Maths), have announced the release of their debut album 'First Light'.
The music was recorded and mixed at Benge's MemeTune Studios while Arthur recorded his own vocals in his home studio. The resulting album is full of twisted electronic pop songs and haunting atmospherics with lyrics from Arthur that explore internalised, dead-of-night fears to stream-of-conscious visions of city life and evocative descriptions of lost and lonely figures who find themselves out of time and out of place.
The record will be out on 23rd June. Pre-order your copy here.
